Right around the corner from Our Fabrication shop in Odessa, lie’s Ms.Whalen’s home near Lake Ann. A cute little-gated community, where the residents prefer golf carts to cars, and boats and jet skis on the water. The homes in this community were originally built as weekend fishing cabins near the lumber yard. Ms. Whalen has lived in the home for almost two years, after renting a house across the street. The original counters in the home were made from Formica, with green specks. Formica is a laminated wood-plastic hybrid. One of the biggest issues with Formica is swelling, which is what happened with our customer. The client’s Countertops had too much moisture in them, causing them to become uneven and bumpy.
Ms. Whalen promptly scheduled an In-Home Consultation with International Granite and Stone Designer Anthony W., with her heart set on dark granite countertops. However, after the consultation was through, Ms. Whalen had reconsidered and chose a lighter color. Cambria Summerhill Quartz pairs perfectly with her new white cabinets.
