Meet the Home Owners

Located in Tampa by the Bay lie’s the Torres Home. Lifelong Georgia residents, Mr. and Mrs. Torres made the transition to Florida after their daughter had their first child.  She had visited her daughter during the prior months and saw a house on the same street being renovated. The home was put on the market about two months later and the Torres’ snatched it up immediately.

Although the prior owner had renovated the bathroom before selling the home to the Torres Family, there were still some things they wanted to change to make it their own.  The counters the previous owner had put in were Laminate Bathroom Countertops. Laminate is a wooden particle board Countertop that requires a lot of maintenance.  Between cleaning the surface and keeping it sanitary, to chipping the surface paint layer, and swelling in the wood, Laminate Countertops require more work than they wanted to deal with. 

“I felt like the Laminate Countertops just looked cheap, I wanted something nice that I didn’t have to worry about keeping clean” Mrs. Torres said.

Mrs. Torres scheduled an In-Home Consultation with International Granite and Stone Designer Tim T. through our website, with her heart set on Granite Countertops.  However, after the Consultation was through, The Torres’ had reconsidered and chose a lighter color. Cambria Delgatie pairs perfectly with the new white cabinets.

Mrs.Torres’ favorite color is Purple, so she had the Bathroom Painted Purple, with Gold Leaf Accenting.

A Remnant is a piece of material that can be used on smaller projects such as, hall baths, small vanities, shower seats, replacement matching pieces, backsplash, and more. Countertop Remnants come in all shapes and sizes, as they are the leftover material that comes with cutting the job. At International Granite and Stone, when doing a large project with us we only charge you for the amount of square footage you need, we do not charge by the slab! This allows us to utilize the remnants for smaller projects. Smaller Projects include anything under 25sqft. Quartz Countertop Remnants are a popular way to furnish a small bathroom while on a budget.

Using a Remnant for The Bathroom Vanity Countertops

For the Hall Bathroom Vanity, the Torres’ Chose to add a Remnant Piece of Matching Delgatie Cambria Quartz. The Hall Bathroom Vanity was not originally done at the same time as the Master Bathroom Countertops. The Torre’s came back to International Granite and Stone about 4 months later and worked with our Remnant Salesman Primo C.  They were able to get a small piece of Delgatie Cambria Quartz big enough for their Hall Bath and 3 Inch Backsplash on two sides of the wall.
