Soapstone is a natural stone that is quarried like granite and is made mostly of the mineral talc, which leads to a soft texture. Soapstone Countertops have a higher percentage of quartz than the usual rock itself in order to make them harder and more durable for kitchens and bathrooms. While Soapstone is not as hard as quartz, it is very dense and fairly easy to clean.
