What's Cheaper Buying Granite Slabs or Granite by the square foot

For the everyday homeowner, buying granite by square foot is more cost-effective. Buying by the Slabs can lead to more waste for the customer. As a Countertop Fabricator, Buying slabs is smarter for us than the average consumer because we can use leftover pieces for other projects. Check out our leftover(remnant) pieces here

A “good price” is a really loaded, generalized question. A good price to pay if you are looking for basic granite countertops is between $40-$60 sf. A good price for mid-level granite counter tops is between $65-$85 sf. A good price for a luxury level or exotic granite counters is between $90-$180 sf.

Which is cheaper granite or quartz countertops?

Which is cheaper granite or quartz countertops?

Granite countertops start off at a lower price point than quartz countertops, but that doesn’t always mean that the granite you pick is going to be cheaper than a quartz design. Most people find that quartz countertops are similar in pricing to level 2 and up granites. The general rule of thumb, between granite and quartz, is that the more movement or the more unique the stone is, the more money you will pay for it.

How much does granite cost for a 10×10 kitchen?

An average 10×10 Kitchen usually shakes out to be about 45 square feet. On the higher end of the spectrum, the fabrication and installation of new granite counter tops can be as high as $7500. On the low end, you may see prices like $2750 for a 10×10 kitchen remodel.

It’s worth noting however that these prices don’t include options like a new sink, faucet, cutouts, upgraded edges, and more details or services for your project. During a free estimate appointment, one of our trained design reps will go over all your pricing options and can help you select the best stone for your home and budget.

What is a cheaper alternative to granite countertops?

Granite is widely considered the Cheaper Stone Countertop option. A Cheaper Alternative to Granite Countertops would be Laminate Countertops.

Laminate Countertops are very cost-effective and can be found at any major retailer and are made of compressed particle board and plywood, with a printed design on top.

Are granite countertops heat resistant?

Yes. All durable stones can withstand high temperatures. However, extremely unnatural amounts of heat can break down the stone over time.

What stains granite (natural stone) surfaces?

What stains granite (natural stone) surfaces?

Common kitchen countertops stains are caused by Wine, Coffee, Tomato Sauce, Cooking Oil, and Grease. Common bathroom countertops stains are caused by Hair Products, Hair Dye, and Toothpaste. Excess tap water left on the surface also can stain.

Does granite require any maintenance after installation?

We recommend you seal your granite surfaces with a strong and effective sealer. We recommend Dry-Treat Ultra sealer as your choice.

Dry-Treat Ultra sealer is a single component, water-based acrylic that seals the surface and penetrates deep into any porous natural stone.

What’s the best way to clean granite surfaces?

The easiest way to clean any natural stone surface is with soap and water, but the more difficult stains require a little scrubbing. Most store-bought cleaners have silicone added to them, which will cause your surfaces to be dull and spotty. Stick to soap and water.

Which is better? Granite Countertops or Quartz Countertops (Engineered Stone)

Which is better? Granite Countertops or Quartz Countertops (Engineered Stone)

– Granite: scratch resistant surface, less prone to breaking

– Quartz: non-porous material that does not absorb liquid and bacteria.

– Granite tends to stain, so make sure you seal it with a granite sealer before use.

We recommend quartz countertops for a busy household and we recommend Granite for anyone looking to make a wow factor for their home.

Marble Countertops vs. Granite Countertops

Granite is a natural stone that has many benefits and will last much longer than marble. Granite is much more scratch-resistant, heat-resistant, waterproofing, and easy to clean than marble. Marble countertops require sealing every couple of years, whereas granite does not need any sealant treatments at all. Marble is more porous and will absorb liquids, oils, and bacteria, whereas granite does not. Marble also tends to break because it can chip or crack easier than granite.

We recommend granite over marble for your kitchen.
