A slab is a large, thick, flat piece of stone, usually rectangular in shape. Slabs are chosen by consumers for their countertops and then fabricated and cut to the proper dimensions for a project. Natural stone slabs like granite, marble, quartzite, onyx, and soapstone all differ in appearance since they come directly from quarries in nature. Manufactured slabs like quartz usually come in jumbo or standard size and are all going to be extremely similar, if not identical since they are created from specific design layouts.
